Guest Facilitator: Dr. Claire Crawford
Dr. Claire B. Crawford is an Assistant Professor of Africana Political Thought in the Department of Politics and International Affairs and the Program in African American Studies at Wake Forest University. A Georgia native, she holds a Ph.D. in Political Science and International Relations from the University of Southern California.
Her scholarship explores Black liberation movements, political identity, sound and politics, and the ways Black communities imagine freedom and democratic futures. Dr. Crawford is currently developing her first book project, Hum So the Devil Doesn’t Hear You: Southern Black Rural Political Existences as the Otherwise, which examines sound, Southern Black political life, community, and resistance.
Hosted by the Council of Bishops and the AME Social Action Commission, this weekly virtual gathering is an opportunity to learn, reflect, and engage in meaningful conversation about faith, freedom, and social justice.
