Fourth Annual Interfaith Symposium
Protecting Places of Worship Through Preparedness and Partnership
The Mayor’s Office of Community Affairs Faith Outreach Team and the Baltimore City Office of Emergency Management invite you to join us for our Fourth Annual Interfaith Symposium: Protecting Places of Worship Through Preparedness and Partnership on Wednesday, August 19, 2026, from 9:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at Baltimore City Community College.
Faith-based organizations are trusted anchors within our communities, providing spaces for worship, fellowship, service, and support. This full-day symposium will bring together faith communities, emergency management professionals, public safety partners, and community organizations to share resources, exchange best practices, and provide practical preparedness training to enhance the safety and resilience of places of worship.
Attendees will hear from keynote speaker Chief Greg Mullen, former Chief of Police of the Charleston Police Department, participate in preparedness trainings, learn about available resources, and connect with partners committed to supporting faith communities.
Registration is required by Monday, August 3. Space is limited to 100 participants, and attendance will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis. To allow as many faith communities as possible to participate, we ask that each house of worship register one to three representatives, such as faith leaders, lay leaders, or members of safety or emergency preparedness committees. We encourage you to register early, as attendance will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis.
