⚠️ Alert: Avoid E15 Gasoline in Small Engines
(May 1–20, 2026)
The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) is issuing an emergency fuel waiver from May 1 through May 20, 2026, allowing the nationwide sale of E15 gasoline (15% ethanol)—often labeled as “Unleaded 88.”
While this may help lower fuel prices, it can seriously damage small engines.
⚠️ Avoid using E15 in:
Lawn mowers
Chainsaws
Outdoor Power Equipments
Power Washers
Any engine made before 2001
❗ Why this matters:
E15 contains higher ethanol levels that can:
Break down rubber seals
Cause engines to overheat
Damage or destroy carburetors
Attract moisture and create harmful buildup
✅ Safer options:
Use E10 (10% ethanol) or ethanol-free gas (E0) for your equipment during this time.
🗓️ This waiver runs through May 20, 2026 (and could be extended), so be cautious at the pump and double-check fuel labels.
Stay informed. Protect your equipment. Share this with others who rely on small engines.
